Skilled in conversing in four other major languages (Mandarin, Cantonese, Hakka and Malay), Dr Chin is also a local examiner for the Royal Australasian College of Physicians Clinical Examination, and has responsibility in mentoring and supervising both advanced and basic specialist trainees in Respiratory Medicine and General Medicine. He is also the clinical tutor for both Deakin and Monash Universities medical students.
His special interests lie in the broader scope of Respiratory Medicine, in the diagnostic evaluation of pulmonary nodules, masses and infiltrates, management of chronic airway limitations (including asthma and COPD), and suppurative lung diseases (such as bronchiectasis), as well as diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopies. He is also interested in Perioperative assessment and care, working alongside surgeons in the private hospitals.
